The ONSC’s qualified instructors follow the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructor learn-to-ski program.

2025 Programs:

Saturdays at the Hornet’s Nest

9:30am-11:30am:

  • Youth program
  • Beginner Adult
  • Intermediate Adult

Youth 1
Specifically for 5 year old kids, this program introduces youngsters to cross country skiing. The program is based on skill development in an atmosphere of fun and games on snow … and on skis, of course. Youth skiers must be 5 years of age or older and MUST be autonomous, motivated and willing to participate. The leaders will not be allowed to physically assist youth skiers to put on their skis or pick them up when they fall down.

Youth 2
The core program of the Club. A learn to ski, progression development program for youth 6 -15. Learn to ski, refine your skills and ski longer/faster.

Adult

The Club offers classes at various skill levels – introduction to skiing, lessons for those who may have skied before but have never taken a lesson, and more advanced for refining technique.
Many of our adults are beginner skiers; why not join an adult class at the same time as your children?

Private Lessons (individual or group):

ONSC has qualified CANSI instructors who can provide individual or group lessons in both classic technique and skate ski technique. Rates depend on instructor qualification, length of lesson and number of participants. Contact us by email or leave a message on the SNOW phone (613-837-SNOW).
